Cookie Policy

Which cookies we use and why.

Cookie Policy

Effective date: 1 July 2026 Last updated: 1 July 2026 Version: 1.0

This Cookie Policy explains how gamepingtest.com uses cookies and similar technologies, which cookies we set, for what purpose, and how you can manage your preferences. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

This notice discharges the transparency duty under the EU e-Privacy Directive (2002/58/EC as amended by 2009/136/EC) and, for Turkish visitors, the cookie-related aspect of KVKK Article 10.

1. What Is a Cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your browser and reads back on subsequent visits. Cookies are classified along two axes:

  • Duration: Session cookies expire when the browser closes; persistent cookies remain for a fixed period.
  • Origin: First-party cookies are set by the site you visit; third-party cookies are set by external providers.

In addition to cookies, browser storage such as localStorage, sessionStorage and IndexedDB is treated under the same principles in this policy.

2. Our General Approach

Gameping keeps cookie use to a minimum:

  • No non-essential cookie is set without your consent.
  • We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.
  • Analytics is provided by Plausible Analytics in cookieless mode by default.
  • Even if you choose "Necessary only", the Service remains fully usable.

3. Cookies We Use

The tables below list every cookie the Service can set. When a new cookie is added the tables and the "Last updated" date are updated.

3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

No consent is required for these. They are technically indispensable for the Service.

Name Purpose Duration Source Third party?
NEXT_LOCALE Remember chosen interface language (tr/en) 1 year gamepingtest.com No
gp_csrf CSRF protection for form and API requests Session (browser close) gamepingtest.com No
gp_consent Remember your cookie preference 6 months gamepingtest.com No
__cf_bm Cloudflare bot management 30 minutes .gamepingtest.com Yes — Cloudflare, Inc.
cf_clearance Cloudflare "I am not a robot" verification result 1 hour .gamepingtest.com Yes — Cloudflare, Inc.

3.2 Preference Cookies

Remember UI preferences. Not loaded under "Necessary only". Gameping treats preference cookies as consent-based even where some jurisdictions consider them necessary.

Name Purpose Duration Source Third party?
gp_theme Dark / light mode preference 1 year gamepingtest.com No
gp_recent_games Quick access list of recently tested games 6 months gamepingtest.com No
gp_region_hint Suggested probe region hint 30 days gamepingtest.com No

3.3 Analytics Cookies

Used for anonymous visitor statistics. Our default provider Plausible is cookieless; the cookies below are only set if a fallback / developer mode or optional Google Analytics 4 integration is enabled, and only with your explicit consent.

Name Purpose Duration Source Third party?
(Plausible) Cookieless — sets no cookies plausible.io (EU) Yes — Plausible Insights OÜ
_ga Distinguish visitors (GA4 optional) 2 years .gamepingtest.com Yes — Google Ireland Ltd.
_ga_<container> GA4 session state 2 years .gamepingtest.com Yes — Google Ireland Ltd.

3.4 Advertising / Profiling Cookies

We do not use any. If any advertising partnership is introduced, this policy will be updated, the relevant cookies added to the tables and your explicit consent requested.

3.5 Browser Storage (localStorage, sessionStorage)

Key Purpose Persistent? Source
gp:last_result Temporarily hold your latest un-shared result client-side (never sent to server) Session First party
gp:consent_v Consent version tracker (so we can re-ask when the policy changes) 6 months First party

4. Consent Management

On your first visit you will see a cookie notice bar at the bottom of the screen with three options:

  1. Accept — enables all cookie categories (necessary + preference + analytics).
  2. Necessary only — enables only strictly necessary cookies.
  3. Settings — opens a category-by-category control panel.

Your choice is stored in gp_consent for six months. We ask again after six months or whenever the policy changes. You can revisit the preference at any time via the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer.

5. Browser-Level Controls

Your browser also lets you control cookies. Help pages for common browsers:

  • Google Chrome: chrome://settings/cookies
  • Mozilla Firefox: about:preferences#privacy
  • Microsoft Edge: edge://settings/content/cookies
  • Apple Safari: Preferences → Privacy
  • Brave / Opera / Vivaldi: equivalent settings pages

Disabling strictly necessary cookies (such as gp_csrf) may break parts of the Service. This is your informed choice.

6. Third-Party Provider Policies

For further information about third-party cookies, consult the providers' policies:

7. Changes

Cookie lists are updated when new features or providers are added. Changes are prospective; when new analytics cookies are added, the gp_consent version changes and consent is re-requested.
